Jimmy Bain formed the band in January 1974. Band's drummer Ricky Munro was Ritchie Blackmore's friend from the past, they played together in a band called Mandrake Root in Hamburg during Autumn 1967.
Harlot's peak was a concert at Marquee Club in London, UK. Ritchie Blackmore was in the audience at Marquee and spotted Jimmy Bain there and subsequently invited him to join Rainbow.
