RAINBOW 1978 ATLANTA OMNI

I remember this one from a radio broadcast and I think that is what this is. Quality is excellant and the performance is a strong one with a few moments of brilliance and noise! RB is on for the most part! I also recall something about a fight breaking out on stage between RB and REO Speedwagon's manager. Rainbow had OPENED for those WEENIES. If I remember correctly, the house lights came on prior to Rainbow finishing their set. If anyone can confirm this......Please do so.

KTK- Dio is strong as ever and RB comes thru and gives the strat a work out from the start, applying extreme pressure to the tremolo bar!

MISTREATED- Bass pedal-RB guitar intro (as was the case thru that tour). RB's does a right hand workout and then misses a few things but gets back on track. Pretty much uninspired but flashy and noisy. A few crowd members can be heard screaming...probably smoking *that* stuff!!! Hey it was the 70's! Dio is solid and this is vocally better than the On Stage version at times. Pitiful solo in the middle with lots of noise and tremolo bar bouncing. RicardO SR finally gets into it though and supplies a fistful of storelicks that should have Baby Blackermore and RicardO busy for the next couple of hours at least! :-) The final guitar solos are tight and effective.

LLRR-Typical version. Dio is pushing his voice here but still sounds good. The solo is a smoker! Great vibrato. Lots of sing along.......

MOSM- Short intro that Ritchie SCREWS UP big time! He tried to cover it up....nice try! :-) Dio is singing soooooooooooooo well. This whole concert one of his finest moments! Poor slide solo. There is a guitar break at the end. Actually now that I think about it...this version of MOSM is on FINYL VINYL.

SIS-NOISE. Pretty poor all around for RB.
