The following is a review of a concert on the Strange Highways US tour, originally e-mailed to me.

Subject: DIO!
The Strand, Providence, RI, Thurs 6/16/94
The Strand is a great place to see a metal show - it holds 1500, and has a large open floor in front. It's also has a large board with an official "The Strand Policy on Moshing"!!! I thought it was prett cool that they had a policy on moshing! Basically, it said that moshing is perfectly acceptable and a lot of fun, and that moshing should be fraternal, meaning you don't try to hurt people, you help people get up when they fall, and you don't flail your arms around wildly.
As usual, everyone went crazy and rushed the stage when it went dark, the dry ice started, and E5150 was played. The band seemed much more engergetic at this show than at the Hampton Beach show - I'd imagine it was because the Strand had a much better setup for a metal show. There was a decent pit for some of heavier moshing-type songs like "Mob Rules", and everyone was pretty cool about it. One highlight/lowlight (depending on your point of view!) was when some cute woman started crowd surfing and someone ripped her skirt off, so she ended up above the crowd in her underwear!
The band and the audience were extremely energetic throughout the entire concert. Dio seemed to really get into the show, which was really cool. They did three encores, and I caught a guitar pick with a Dio logo on one side and the other side signed by Tracy G! (One of my friends caught a drumstick signed by Vinny!) Defintely one of the best shows I've ever been to!
