I went to the following shows over the past 3 days:
Second night was better soundwise than the first. It was really powerful. The show was also recorded this night for a Westwood One Radio broadcast in the future. We got to stay in the hall after the show to meet Ronnie. Those that were allowed to stay inside afterward were told to sit in one section of the seats and wait for Ronnie to come out. There was about 25 people waiting. Someone came out from backstage and said that it would be an hour before Ronnie came out, which caused some grumbles from some of the people. To my amazement, about 20 of them left! So, it was our group that stayed (there were 5 of us). About 5 minutes after the announcement that RJD would be an hour, one of the crew came out, smiled and said that Ronnie would be out in about 15 minutes. YES! Anyway, the man came out and was one of the most friendly, likeable, talkative people that I have ever met (I am from LA though)! :-) Ronnie spent about 45 minutes with us talking, answeing questions and signing whatever anyone had to sign. We spoke about the show and I asked him why the set was 2 songs shorter tonight and he said "They didn't deserve the other 2 songs", with which I agreed. The crowd started out wild and then ran out of gas about 3/4 of the way through. So, if you're going to see Dio, MAKE SURE YOU LET THEM KNOW YOU ARE ENJOYING THE SHOW!
