Just thought I'd mention I saw DIO with Motorhead last night at the West Park Entertainment Center in Houston, Texas. The date has been scheduled for Motorhead for quite some time, however, we were not aware (certainly hoping) that DIO would be there until the 10th. Also playing was Dangerous Toys, Puncture, Peace Sanctuary and After- shock. (I missed the later two, they are local bands)
Motorheads' performance was great, Dios' was exceptional despite the dismal croud of a few hundred at best. Lemmy made a comment or two about the size of the crowd, but niether band seemed to be discouraged by it. Ronnie and the band seemed to really be having a good time. Larry "Bones" did a fine job of filling Pilson's shoes and I've gained alot more respect for Tracy G's guitar playing. Maybe it's because I'm such a big Blackmore fan- and he did such a fine job on Mistreated! I saw him a couple of times on the Strange Highways tour and was not that impressed- especially his stage presence. I would guess they were not so happy with our responce, being that they only played Rainbow in the dark for an oncore- I know we tried! My voice is still gone from screaming and singing along!
