Dio concert review; April 2nd, 1997 by Ken Boyd

The following is a review of the first Dio show of the third US leg of the Angry Machines, originally mailed to me.

The Outback was the perfect place for this show to take place! Not a bad seat in the house. The whole show was face-to face with Ronnie and the guys!! The set list:

• Jesus, Mary & the Holy Ghost
• Straight Through The Heart
• Don't Talk To Strangers
• Holy Diver
• (Vinny's Drum Solo)
• Heaven & Hell(Heavy audience participation, as usual)
• Double Monday
• Stand Up And Shout(More audience participation)
• (Larry "Bones" Dennison Bass Solo)--This Actually kicked some serious ass, in my opinion!
• Hunter of the Heart
• Mistreated/Catch The Rainbow Medley
• (Tracy's solo)--which was not so hot, in my opinion.
• Last In Line

• Rainbow in the Dark
• Mob Rules

• Man On A Silver Mountain/Long Live Rock-n-Roll Medley

It was a damned good start to the last leg of this tour. Tracy did an awesome job on the material from the last two albums--of course--but left a bad taste on the others, especially the Vivian stuff!

After the show all seemed in good spirits(Literally!) and spent about two and a half hours with fans for autographs, pictures and what-not. Check Tapio's page for the dates nearest you. It's something you DON'T want to miss!
