Jerry Best joined Dio in August, 1995. Before joining Dio he played in Freak Of Nature. Freak Of Nature warmed up Dio's European tour in 1993; most likely Ronnie James Dio got to know him on that tour.
Jerry Best didn't remain in the band for too long, they did a 5-day tour in late 1995 and started to work on the forthcoming album. In May 1996 Jeff Pilson announced that he will play bass at least on the album and at least rumors claim that he will be the bassist on the tour too.
